Ciongoli is currently executive vice president and general counsel for Campbell Soup Company.
He also has had the title of chief sustainability, corporate responsibility and governance officer.
He will report to CEOLachlan Murdoch.

In August, Fox Corp.announcedthat Dinh would step down at the end of the year.
Fox settled the case for $787.5 million last spring, just as the trial was to begin.
