TheCannes Film Festivalhas admitted six filmmakers, five women and one man, to its 2024 residency program.

It is now helmed by Stephanie Lamome.

Lebanese filmmaker Nadine Labaki wrote the screenplay for her first feature,Caramel, out of the program.

She went on to win the Cesar and the Oscar for best international film in 2019 withCapharnaum.

The 2024 participants will present their projects at next years Cannes Film Festival.
